Monetary Support

Illinois Operation Lifesaver operates off of volunteer time and donations. We are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization and accept donations in any amount. Receipts covering the value of your donation will be readily available for use when filing your tax returns.

If you can't help by donating your time or merchandise, we will welcome monetary donations. You may be thinking that we are just after money...well, no. We are after any type of support we can get. Most of our volunteers work in the railroad industry or for law enforcement that have railroads in their community and have a deep passion to never have to respond to a fatality or injury incident.

Donations - Why they help

Illinois Operation Lifesaver is a volunteer program. All of our funding and presence throughout the state is provided through donations. Our volunteers donate their time, our safety partners help financially, and some supplies assist through merchandise support.

According to the 2010 census there were almost 13 million people residing in Illinois. Just over 10 million people were of an age to drive. Just over 9 million were old enough to drink.

If we got $1 from 1 in 100 people that would give us $90,000 annually in donations. Or...just a penny from all 9,000,000. Every little bit helps.
